Carole and Michael Middleton, the parents of Princess Kate, have always been a strong support for the British royal family. Despite their close bond with their grandchildren and their daughter’s royal status, the likelihood of them receiving official royal titles is very slim. Peerage titles are based on hereditary nobility, and it would be an unprecedented move for Carole and Michael to be granted such titles. When Kate married Prince William in 2011, they were given the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge by Queen Elizabeth II. Even Queen Camilla’s relatives do not hold official titles. It seems that the Middleton couple’s role will remain as loving grandparents and supporters of the royal family, without the added formality of a peerage title.
