Unstoppable Love: Lake Geneva Wedding First Dance Defies Tornado Threat

The first time a tornado interrupted Alex and Sarah Schilke’s love story was in May 2022, when Alex proposed in Eau Claire under a tornado watch. Alex and Sarah, both Wisconsin natives, faced another tornado last Saturday during their wedding reception at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva. The severe weather and tornado warning forced the wedding party into the basement, but it didn’t stop the couple from sharing a special first dance. Despite the storm and power outage, the couple’s love shone through as singer Jack Jones performed a song for their first dance in a room illuminated by guests’ flashlights. The tornado may have caused chaos, but it couldn’t stop the magic of Alex and Sarah’s wedding day.
