Calling all art enthusiasts! The highly anticipated Upfest street art festival is making a triumphant return to Bristol in 2024. After a pause in 2023 due to escalating costs, this year’s festival is back with a bang, spanning over two weeks instead of just two days. Co-founder Steve Hayles described it as a ‘new incarnation’ of the beloved festival. Originally born from a small group of artists painting together over 15 years ago, Upfest has evolved into a global celebration of creativity.
Scheduled to run from 18 May to 2 June, artists from around the world are invited to paint stunning murals across Bedminster and the wider BS3 area. With over 100 artist spots up for grabs, creatives have until 25 February to register their interest. In addition to mesmerizing street art, attendees can enjoy free workshops, artist talks, theatre performances, and comedy shows. Mr. Hayles promised a diverse range of activities throughout the two-week affair, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
