Dr. Dre, the legendary hip-hop pioneer, was celebrated in style as he was honored with his very own star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. Surrounded by industry titans such as Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Iovine, and radio host Big Boy, Dr. Dre took center stage at 6840 Hollywood Blvd to receive the 2,775th star on the walk of fame, specifically for the recording category. In a heartwarming speech, Dr. Dre expressed his gratitude to his loyal fans who have supported him throughout the years. The co-founder of N.W.A. and mentor to hip-hop heavyweights like Eminem and 50 Cent, Dr. Dre credited his passion for hip-hop for leading him to an incredible career where he gets to do what he loves every day. The celebration continued as the Los Angeles City Councilman declared March 19 as Dre Day in the city, presenting him with a framed plaque amidst chants of ‘Dre Day! Dre Day!’ Dr. Dre also opened up about his recent health scares, revealing he suffered from a brain aneurysm and three strokes in 2021. After the ceremony, Dr. Dre is set to appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ alongside Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent, promising an evening filled with music and memories.
